Lyla and the Ardennes stallion "Simba" had a beautiful filly  May 11th 2010!
This is the first cross that we know of between these two amazing breeds and this foal will be a keeper.
Simba is a 15 hand imported 2004 Ardennes stallion owned by Clover Oaks Farm in Florida.
Simba is registered in the Belgium Ardennes Studbook.
The Ardennes is among the oldest of the European heavy draft breeds and has stud books
in Belgium 1886, France 1908, Luxembourg 1921, Sweeden 1840 and in the UK.
The Ardennes is an extremely rare breed in the United States.
The Ardennes stands between 14.2 and 16 hands and is usually bay, roan or chestnut in color.
They are a compact and heavy boned horse with a short neck and back, strong heavy legs
with dense feather. They have a deep, wide body with massive quarters.
Ardennes have a smaller head than some of the taller draft breeds with kind eyes and little ears.
Their temperament is willing and gentle.
